Avila

Avila is a women’s contemporary lifestyle fashion label that produces luxury athleisure clothing designed for busy and active women to express the best version of themselves. Avila offers sizes 8-24.

Our commitment

Avila’s values are predicated on sharing positive impacts on people and on the world and are achieved through our processes, designs and production. We aim to pass this on to women through our clothing, empowering them to feel both physically and emotionally ‘great’ about themselves and as a member of society. We work closely with our factories in India and China to ensure quality standards, social and environmental standards are met. All our factories hold relevant accreditations such as BSCI, WRAP, Fair trade to ensure our standards are being met and that they have appropriate sustainability practises in place. Our garments are made from consciously sourced fabrics such as organic cotton and modal fabric.

Our Sustainability Framework

  • What is your company doing to reduce your emissions or combat key environmental issues (e.g. waste (packaging, end of life product strategy or recycling), biodiversity, land use, water, chemical use, energy use, and natural resource use etc.)?

Avila reduces emissions by sourcing our fabrics close to our factories and/or by using factories that make their own fabrics in house. Majority of our factories are solar powered and have processes in place to protect the environment as much as possible for example, collecting their own rain water and only using chemical free dyes. When possible Avila sources locally in Melbourne and has limited edition pieces made in house in our studio in Melbourne.

  • How are the products your company offers made from environmentally friendly materials (e.g. recycled, organic materials)?

Avila's garments are made from organic cotton, recycled and modal fabrics. We are always looking for eco friendly options to ensure we can cut down on waste, pollution and landfill. The fabrics we choose are made with lower environmental impact than most other fabrics and we do our best to use left over scraps and turn them into bags, scrunchies or accessories.
