Avilla Farm

Avilla Farm

Nestled in the hinterland of Northern NSW is Avilla Farm, producing high quality macadamias native to the region. As farmers, we are keen to share the fabulous beneficial properties of Australian macadamia oil for skincare.

Our commitment

As farmers we start from beginning as we grow and nurture the macadamia crop to then harvest. The whole nut and outer casing is used throughout process. The green husk is used for compost on the farm. The brown shell is used for renewable energy. The macadamia nut is sold for food. The small pieces of nut that break off (and are too small to be sold as food) are collected and cold pressed to make the oil used in our skincare range. We have chosen recyclable packaging and our popular pure oil comes in two sizes... one can refill the smaller 30ml bottle.

Our Sustainability Framework

  • What is your company doing to reduce your emissions or combat key environmental issues (e.g. waste (packaging, end of life product strategy or recycling), biodiversity, land use, water, chemical use, energy use, and natural resource use etc.)?

As farmers we have a strong connection to the land and environment. We ensure all farm processes meet the current guidelines and best practises. As mention previously, there is very little waste and we put back onto the farm, to ensure we continue to nourish the land with compost and minerals. Our farm is our home, a place we want to see flourish for our children and their future.

  • How are the products your company offers made from environmentally friendly materials (e.g. recycled, organic materials)?

Our products are packaged in recyclable materials: glass bottles with cardboard outer packaging or recyclable tubes. We also encourage customers who buy our 30ml bottle to not to throw it out but to refill it from our 500ml bottle.

  • How does your company give back to the community (e.g. financial donations, volunteering, partnerships etc.)?

We often support local community fundraisers with Gift Packs for raffles etc.

  • How has your company made a commitment to achieve and maintain inclusion & diversity (e.g. Gender / Race / Ethnicity / National Origin / Sexual Orientation / Religion / Disability / Age)?

We support indigenous communities through our purchase of Kakadu Plum grown in communities in the far Northern parts of Australia.
