Our Sustainability Framework

  • What is your company doing to reduce your emissions or combat key environmental issues (e.g. waste (packaging, end of life product strategy or recycling), biodiversity, land use, water, chemical use, energy use, and natural resource use etc.)?

Our end of life product strategy helps consumers compost the tableware along with the food at home. Making clean up easy and also reducing the amount of waste created. Based on our sales figures from 2021, we can estimate 650,000 pieces of plastic dinnerware bound for landfill or recycling has been replaced with our sustainable alternatives that biodegrade and compost. By selling more than half a million eco-friendly dinnerware packs we have assisted in the removal of 15.6 tons of plastic from council bins and facilities! This aids in lowering the stress put on council institutional practices to sort and divert the rubbish to its required location, due to the behaviour change of people composting the products at home by themselves. Helping individuals and our business make an impact on the SDG goals including Responsible Consumption and Production (12), Climate Action (13), Life Below Water (14) & Life on Land (15) by lowering the amount of disposable plastic dinnerware ending up in landfills or worse, as litter on our streets, parks, or waterways for many years.

  • Do you partner with ethical factories that meet international labor standards? What processes have you implemented to make your supply chain more sustainable?

To achieve our goal of providing sustainable tableware alternatives at affordable prices we have had to explore multiple different providers and suppliers worldwide. We always ensure that the factories meet international labour standards and ensure they provide the necessary documentation to support their claims. We found that visiting the factories and workspaces allowed us to see the whole production process and the raw materials being used.

  • How does your company give back to the community (e.g. financial donations, volunteering, partnerships etc.)?

By purchasing Areca Nut Leaf products you are supporting the livelihood of an entire village. Aiding in creating jobs and using materials that would otherwise be thrown away. Furthermore, 85% of the factory employees are women. Girl Power! A primary focus of the EcoSouLife philosophy is the education of younger generations, building environmental awareness and developing consciousness regarding individual impact on the health of the Earth. • How does your circular model or circular initiative work?

Let’s walk through the lifecycle of our products. It begins with the collection of raw materials including recycled materials. Those materials are then used to form our products. These are then packaged, shipped, distributed, and eventually sold to the end user. – Who uses the product. Suitable for parties, picnics, schools, hospitals, restaurants and the list goes on! But, what make this process so beautiful and beneficial to our environment, is the final stage where the products return to their source. Leaving no harmful trace to our dear mother Earth! Our safer, greener alternatives are designed to breakdown into natural raw materials once buried in the ground. Product Lifecyle Breakdown: 1.
