Heaps Normal

Heaps Normal

We’re a dedicated non-alcoholic beer company, brewing beer without the hangover, so you can create your own epic new normal. Our story is based on the simple belief that there's things in life that are too good to be wasted.

Our commitment

At Heaps Normal, we believe that everything we do as a business has the opportunity to make a positive impact, so why waste it? Becoming a Certified B Corporation means that we’re holding ourselves accountable in pursuing these opportunities and continuing to be a business that benefits all. Working within this globally recognised framework, environmental issues are at the forefront when we’re making decisions regarding what we put in our products, who we work with to produce them, how we package it for market and what happens after it has been consumed.

Our Sustainability Framework

  • What is your company doing to reduce your emissions or combat key environmental issues (e.g. waste (packaging, end of life product strategy or recycling), biodiversity, land use, water, chemical use, energy use, and natural resource use etc.)?

At present, our cans are made from 60% recycled materials and our packaging boxes are made from 100% recycled materials with both being recyclable after use. We have also begun to measure our emissions with the aim of becoming carbon positive.

  • How are the products your company offers made from environmentally friendly materials (e.g. recycled, organic materials)?

Working within the FMCG space, we know our products cycle through the hands of our customers quickly. As a result, we have incorporated environmental friendly materials into our product design to ensure we’re minimising negative impact where possible. All Heaps Normal products are proudly packaged in aluminium cans and cardboard clusters and boxes. This allows all packaging to be recyclable after use - leaving no bad stuff in landfill.

  • How are the service/s you offer environmentally friendly?

We proudly participate in Container Deposit Schemes (CDS) around Australia. Originally created to reduce litter, this service lets anyone receive a 10c refund for any bottle, can or carton being returned for recycling - essentially rewarding individuals to act in a way that benefits their community and the environment. As a beverage supplier, our participation helps cover the costs involved with this recycling scheme.

  • Do you partner with ethical factories that meet international labor standards? What processes have you implemented to make your supply chain more sustainable?

Our beer products are locally made right here in Australia in partnership with a certified B Corp supplier. With a focus on ethical sourcing, local purchasing and hiring, low impact production and high quality products, this partnership supports a supply chain that focuses on being sustainable for workers, customers and the community.

  • How does your company give back to the community (e.g. financial donations, volunteering, partnerships etc.)?

Since day one we have had a standing commitment to donate a significant portion of our resources to effective charitable giving. We do this through our 2% Purpose Program with 1% going towards people and 1% going towards the planet. We also offer Volunteer Time Off and Matched Giving to all team members. As a result, we have been able to work with some great partners to achieve real positive impact and do our bit to transform our economy. To be able to give back is something our team are incredibly proud of.

  • How has your company made a commitment to achieve and maintain inclusion & diversity (e.g. Gender / Race / Ethnicity / National Origin / Sexual Orientation / Religion / Disability / Age)?

As a business, we are committed to championing an inclusive community of diverse individuals whose different normals are changing the new normal. As an equal opportunities employer, we have set ourselves targets that we’re working towards across all levels and teams. Beyond this, we also have supplier and partnership targets to ensure the community we’re building is one that champions Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.
