Our commitment

Paving the way to a more sustainable future. From sourcing sustainable and ethically sourced materials and ethically-made products to our low-waste packaging. Jackie Mack Designs is committed to using premium materials, and recycled metals, and adhering to ethical practices together with our factories. Through the guidance and support of independent organisations that are membership-based like SEDEX and AMFORI, we can deliver jewellery with a conscience that aligns with our values. We also rely on auditing reports from world-leading organisations like SGS group which perform annual on-site audits. Our factories source certified conflict-free gold, silver, and other metals, and most hold a membership with the Responsible Jewellery Council.

Our Sustainability Framework

  • What is your company doing to reduce your emissions or combat key environmental issues (e.g. waste (packaging, end of life product strategy or recycling), biodiversity, land use, water, chemical use, energy use, and natural resource use etc.)?

Our efforts go from offsetting carbon emissions for every delivery booked via our shipping partner, who works with internationally recognised carbon solutions providers to reduce our climate impact, to relying on world-leading organisations like SGS group that conduct factory audits on the safe use and disposal of chemicals during the manufacturing process. Through improved packaging solutions that are recyclable, reusable jewellery pouches, zero single-use plastics, to compostable satchels, we aim to minimise and improve our environmental impact. By using recycled gold and sterling silver we cut down on CO2 emissions versus mined materials.

  • How are the products your company offers made from environmentally friendly materials (e.g. recycled, organic materials)?

We use recycled gold and sterling silver in the manufacturing of our jewellery products. This helps reduce emissions by not using mined materials.

  • How are the service/s you offer environmentally friendly?

Please refer to our Emissions & Key Environmental Issues section

  • Do you partner with ethical factories that meet international labor standards? What processes have you implemented to make your supply chain more sustainable?

We have fostered strong relationships with our factories which periodically undergo a certification audit by independent organisations like: - SGS Group and Interket for factory auditing and product testing. - AMFORI provide tools and resources to supply chains by improving social performance where sustainable trade is at the heart of their business. - Members of the Responsible Jewellery Council. Sustainability, ethical and environmentally friendly practices are the strong core brand values that contribute to this journey as we continue to pursue ethical and fair business practices that deliver jewellery with a conscience.

  • How does your company give back to the community (e.g. financial donations, volunteering, partnerships etc.)?

Jackie Mack Designs is committed to participating in social impact initiatives by working alongside not-for-profit organisations. In the past few years, we have donated pieces of jewellery that will help them with their fundraising activities and/or donated a portion of sales of jewellery dedicated to promoting and raising awareness of these worthy causes.

  • How has your company made a commitment to achieve and maintain inclusion & diversity (e.g. Gender / Race / Ethnicity / National Origin / Sexual Orientation / Religion / Disability / Age)?

We are a small team but we share our commitment to an inclusive and diverse culture in the workplace.

  • How does your circular model or circular initiative work?

Our Circular Economy Model is yet to reach a number of goals like introducing a program which will encourage customers to recycle their jewellery but we are moving closer toward that goal. As part of our Circular Economy Model, we started by creating jewellery only in recycled gold and silver, manufacturing in smaller quantities to avoid overstocking and ensuring that any discontinued products are sold at fair prices rather than ending up in a landfill.
