Kindershare

Kindershare connects owners and renters of baby equipment. Rent baby equipment from local parents or earn some extra cash while helping families.

Our commitment

Kindershare was born out of the want to keep our baby equipment out of our house while we were in between children. Australians spend over $1.6bn per year on prams, cots and car seats, and buy 2.6 prams PER CHILD. We are out to reduce the huge volumes of waste this creates by encouraging families to share their baby equipment while in between children. We encourage families to rent high quality baby gear that they need for short periods (e.g. newborn equipment or while travelling) rather than buying a lower quality item. We encourage families who are between babies to earn some extra cash by renting out their baby equipment rather than leaving it to gather dust in storage.

Our Sustainability Framework

  • What is your company doing to reduce your emissions or combat key environmental issues (e.g. waste (packaging, end of life product strategy or recycling), biodiversity, land use, water, chemical use, energy use, and natural resource use etc.)?

Kindershare focuses on "Reuse" - we encourage families to share their baby equipment through our platform. Families can easily and quickly access high quality baby equipment that is otherwise sitting idle for less than the price of buying a lower quality item from a discount retailer.

  • How are the service/s you offer environmentally friendly?

By encouraging the reuse of baby equipment, we can help reduce the amount of unnecessary buying of baby equipment. Australians buy 750,000 prams each year... for 300,000 babies. Each time we can avoid a pram being purchased, we can save approx 40kg of CO2.

  • How does your company give back to the community (e.g. financial donations, volunteering, partnerships etc.)?

Kindershare helps promote micropreneurs around Australia. We participate regularly in local council events which help promote sustainability within communities.

  • How has your company made a commitment to achieve and maintain inclusion & diversity (e.g. Gender / Race / Ethnicity / National Origin / Sexual Orientation / Religion / Disability / Age)?

Yes - we screen potential team members with de identified information. We work closely with our customer support team to ensure D&I practices are embedded in their work.

  • How does your circular model or circular initiative work?

Circularity is at the heart of what we do. Our rental model aims to extend products longevity and provide second life (and more) to products that are in perfect condition.
