We believe that our product can help reduce the amount of waste produced from disposable plastic lids that harm the planet. Our mission is to provide an easy and convenient way for people to reduce their environmental impact on a daily basis. We believe Lydy is not just a lid but a reminder that little actions matter. We all have the power to make a difference, one lid at a time.
Our Sustainability Framework
What is your company doing to reduce your emissions or combat key environmental issues (e.g. waste (packaging, end of life product strategy or recycling), biodiversity, land use, water, chemical use, energy use, and natural resource use etc.)?
Lydy is now Carbon Neutral, ideally will become carbon positive in the future. Our product is made from recyclable and long lasting materials to ensure multiple use for years not months. Both silicone and recycled plastic can be recycled at the end of Lydy's lifecycle.
How are the products your company offers made from environmentally friendly materials (e.g. recycled, organic materials)?
Lydy is made from 100% food grade silicone and Rpet. Both can be recycled.
How are the service/s you offer environmentally friendly?
Lydy provides an option to refuse the plastic lid on your coffee cup. By avoiding plastic lids you are stopping plastic lids from entering the environment which takes 450 years to breakdown into microplastics causing havoc. Being able to use Lydy on a mug in your cupboard would be considered a circular solution as you are using something that is already existing and turning it into a portable vessel thus saving on purchasing another reusable cup.
How does your company give back to the community (e.g. financial donations, volunteering, partnerships etc.)?
Lydy is a member 1% for the planet. Lydy is launching a new range of limited edition products where we are working with artists in the community and providing financial donations back to the artists charity of choice.

How does your circular model or circular initiative work?
Using Lydy on mugs and glass provides a circular model because you aren't having to purchase numerous reusable cups. You can reuse something that already exists in your cupboard and makes it safer to drink from and transportable.
