Markot

At Markot, we are on a mission to revolutionise the way families experience parenting while championing sustainability within the circular economy. Our core commitment is to refurbish and breathe new life into baby products.

Our commitment

1. Sustainable: We are dedicated to extending the lifespan of baby products by meticulously refurbishing and restoring them to their original quality. Each item we refurbish undergoes a rigorous process that ensures safety, cleanliness, and functionality, so parents can trust that they are choosing both eco-friendly and high-quality options for their little ones. 2. Circular Economy Advocates: Markot is driven by the principles of the circular economy. We believe that no baby product should be wasted prematurely. By refurbishing and reselling baby gear, we keep these valuable items out of landfills, contributing to a more sustainable future for the next generation. 3. Affordable Excellence: We understand that raising a child can be costly. Markot strives to make quality baby products more accessible to parents by offering overstocked items, brand-new and still in their original packaging, at affordable prices.

Our Sustainability Framework

  • What is your company doing to reduce your emissions or combat key environmental issues (e.g. waste (packaging, end of life product strategy or recycling), biodiversity, land use, water, chemical use, energy use, and natural resource use etc.)?

Our key focus is for our main products we sell to be environmentally friendly. Our refurbished range giving products a second life instead of becoming landfill and reducing overall waste in our industry.

  • How are the products your company offers made from environmentally friendly materials (e.g. recycled, organic materials)?

We always use recycled packaging where possible and encourage drop offs and pick ups at our Sydney location.

  • How are the service/s you offer environmentally friendly?

Our service offering of cleaning and refurbishing allows products to be given a second life rather than the owner discarding them. There are always opportunities for products to be reused and loved again before sending them to landfill.

  • How does your company give back to the community (e.g. financial donations, volunteering, partnerships etc.)?

We give back by partnering with charitable organisations to offer support for families suffering hardship by providing baby gear items to those who cant afford it.

  • How has your company made a commitment to achieve and maintain inclusion & diversity (e.g. Gender / Race / Ethnicity / National Origin / Sexual Orientation / Religion / Disability / Age)?

Its so important that our company achieves inclusion and diversity. We hire women who are parents and even grandparents! The diverse backgrounds within our company shows a unique cultural range from all over the world.

  • How does your circular model or circular initiative work?

Markot is driven by the principles of the circular economy. We believe that no baby product should be wasted prematurely. By refurbishing and reselling baby gear, we keep these valuable items out of landfills, contributing to a more sustainable future for the next generation.
