Our commitment
Original Weekend are committed to great design and sustainable practices throughout our small business journey. Original Weekend was founded on a need to create higher quality menswear, with better fits, awesome quirky designs and at the heart of it a better outcome for planet and people. We strive to only use sustainable fabrications for our products, including 100% recycled polyester swim shorts and certified organic cotton t-shirts, sweats and hoodies. By choosing these fabrications we are limiting our water usage, reducing harmful chemicals, and creating products that will last for seasons to come. We don't believe in a throwaway culture, that's why better design is so important to us. By only creating limited production runs and partnering with ethically accredited factories we ensure your pieces are treated with care, just as much as the people who create them. Happy Weekending!
Our Sustainability Framework
What is your company doing to reduce your emissions or combat key environmental issues (e.g. waste (packaging, end of life product strategy or recycling), biodiversity, land use, water, chemical use, energy use, and natural resource use etc.)?
We consider our products as best we can from farm to factory to your wardrobe. Using sustainable fabrications that have lesser environmental impact and better health outcomes for people along the supply chain, by reducing harmful chemicals from pesticides to fabric dyes. We also partner with shipping providers to offer carbon-neutral shipping and minimal packaging. Packaging we do use for our products is biodegradable and/or recycled and recyclable.

We strive to only use sustainably derived fabrications in our business, it is a key element that sets us apart from other menswear resort brands in Australia. Original Weekend creates swim shorts from post-consumer plastic bottles and organic cotton tops. We do not use complex blends to ensure easier recycling of fabrics at end of life and higher quality to keep you and your favourite pieces looking great for longer.

Yes we do! We believe that sustainability doesn't just stop and start at the garment. Original Weekend believes in sustainable partnerships that benefit people and workers. We only partner with third-party accredited factories which ensure there is no child or forced labour, work safe practices are adhered to, collective bargaining rights and anti-discrimination policies maintained in the manufacturing of Original Weekend garments.
