We recycle pool inflatables and create unique sustainable and functionally designed weatherproof and water-resistant bags and purses with the aim to reduce plastic waste.

Our commitment

PLOYS, is our Social Enterprise through a Profit for Purpose business of recycling and reusing punctured pool toy inflatables and turning these into unique bags, purses and accessories. PLOYS’ mission is to reduce plastic waste through recycling pool toys via a circular loop, of repurposing pvc and bringing it back into society into a new form, versus creating waste, while at the same time a percentage of our profit is donated to the Great Barrier Reef Foundation. PLOYS equals POOLTOYS through recycling and reducing plastic waste!

Our Sustainability Framework

  • What is your company doing to reduce your emissions or combat key environmental issues (e.g. waste (packaging, end of life product strategy or recycling), biodiversity, land use, water, chemical use, energy use, and natural resource use etc.)?

    Next to our products being manufactured from 100% recycled plastics from pool inflatables we send our parcels in recycled mailers and operate our collections via EV vehicles.

  • How are the products your company offers made from environmentally friendly materials (e.g. recycled, organic materials)?

    PLOYS stands for a clever plan of repurposing Pool Toys. OUR PROMISE TO YOU AND OUR PLANET: We are dedicated to REDUCING PLASTIC WASTE from inflatables, by repurposing and creating unique functionally designed weatherproof and water resistant bags and purses. We are a Not for Profit environmentally focussed Social Enterprise based on the principles of reintroducing waste product through a CIRCULAR LOOP.

  • How does your company give back to the community (e.g. financial donations, volunteering, partnerships etc.)?

    We closely connect with community groups, Fund raise for the Great Barrier Reef Foundation and Clean Up Australia.

  • How has your company made a commitment to achieve and maintain inclusion & diversity (e.g. Gender / Race / Ethnicity / National Origin / Sexual Orientation / Religion / Disability / Age)?

    PLOYS is regional based female run business by Carin, with support from her husband Gerhard. We work with contract-based local mums who assist us with sewing work.

  • How does your circular model or circular initiative work?

    Ploys is a social enterprise and not for profit and has become a community initiative with all of our PVC being donated either by households throughout Australia and via recycling initiatives of community groups and pool inflatable businesses. We are proud to say that we now have a strong following of like-minded people throughout Australia, who all our passionate about sustainability and reducing waste, while seeking unique environmentally and ecologically endorsed products.
