Our commitment

'Us + The Earth' was born from the desire to inspire others to reduce both plastics and toxics, both being so damaging to our health and to the Earth. There are better, more sustainable ways that are easily adopted. All packaging is recycled and recyclable, we partner with Terracycle to recycle all of our silicone products and offer free postage returns. HalfCut is saving the Daintree with their buy-back and re-wilding program and we are thrilled to be supporting them.

Our Sustainability Framework

  • What is your company doing to reduce your emissions or combat key environmental issues (e.g. waste (packaging, end of life product strategy or recycling), biodiversity, land use, water, chemical use, energy use, and natural resource use etc.)?

    We ship plastic free We only use recycled cardboard for our packaging , and you can also recycle after use We often use recycled shipping boxes as our outer boxes collected locally We use Sendle and Hero Packaging We partner with Terracycle for our silicone returns program

  • How are the products your company offers made from environmentally friendly materials (e.g. recycled, organic materials)?

    All of our cotton products are GOTS certified organic cotton We also have some products in our range that are made from sisal, hand knitted to support local artisans Our silicone is FDA approved food safe, free from BPA and Phalates All packaging is created using recycled cardboard and can be recycled Our products are chemical and toxin free and can be home composted or recycled. The products are designed to be reusable and reduce the need for anything single use. No plastic or chemicals used in production

  • Do you partner with ethical factories that meet international labor standards? What processes have you implemented to make your supply chain more sustainable?

    Yes we only work with factories that support their workers and when possible we support farmers such as those in the Himalayas that farm the soap nuts, or those artisans in Vietnam who had knit our gloves.

  • How does your company give back to the community (e.g. financial donations, volunteering, partnerships etc.)?

    We partner with Halfcut Org whose purpose is to buy back parts of the Daintree Rainforest to prevent development, They also have a very active re-wilding program. Carbon8 is also promoting regenerative farming. We support both of these important organisations. We also support women in the Philippines stay with their families by providing them with work to support the growth of 'Us and The Earth'

  • How has your company made a commitment to achieve and maintain inclusion & diversity (e.g. Gender / Race / Ethnicity / National Origin / Sexual Orientation / Religion / Disability / Age)?

    We support women to stay with their families through our partnership with 'The Outsourcing Crew' by employing some of the team on a contract basis for admin and technical work. We are a small team, but in the case of growth have no hesitations in employing any person that is competent in their work, regardless of sexual orientation, gender, race etc.

  • How does your circular model or circular initiative work?

    Through our partnership with Terracycle and our silicone free returns programs, we have created a circular loop where the silicone is properly recycled. All of our other products are either recyclable, or home compostable at the end of their lives.
