Our commitment

We have 2 core pillars that make sustainability a core goal for our business. Sustainable Materials: Our cardboard beds are predominantly made (70%) from recycled cardboard (diverted from landfill) as well as original paper fibres from sustainable forestry. This balance of recycled and new cardboard allows us to make strong, robust beds that are designed to be used for many years and then recycled again. We also do our very best to minimise our use of plastic or other non-environmentally friendly materials in our packaging. Carbon Neutrality: At Yona, we're all about trying to minimise our impact on the environment. That's why, ever since we started, we've been 100% carbon neutral. That means that all the energy used to make our beds, ship our products and even power our computers at Yona HQ, is either using renewable energy sources or has been offset.

  • Do you partner with ethical factories that meet international labor standards? What processes have you implemented to make your supply chain more sustainable?

    We've paid very close attention to the way our beds are made. From the sourcing of our cardboard to the person delivering your bed, we've made sure that all the people involved are treated, well, like people! Respect is at the core of what we do at Yona; respect the environment, respect our customers & respect each other (our colleagues, contractors & suppliers). That's why we ensure that all of our suppliers and manufacturers meet a rigorous set of compliance requirements which includes standards related to hiring practices, wages, freedom of association and health & safety. Fun Fact: Unlike many other brands that rely on offshore services, our whole supply chain is here in Australia. This makes it very easy to ensure that our partners comply with our high ethical standards.

  • How does your company give back to the community (e.g. financial donations, volunteering, partnerships etc.)?

    We've donated 200+ beds to both flood and bushfire victims across Australia. We will continually be here to support Australians in need who have been devastated by natural disasters.
